Reminisce Reflects on Breakthrough Album “Alaga Ibile”

Nigerian rapper Reminisce has shared the story of how his sophomore album “Alaga Ibile” catapulted him to mainstream success.

In an interview on the “I Said What I Said Podcast,” Reminisce revealed that “Alaga Ibile” sold over 13 million units in Alaba market, a feat that changed his life.

“My second album, ‘Alaga Ibile,’ was the one that really broke me into the scene,” Reminisce said. “It did 13 million units in Alaba, and that was the moment my life really changed.”

The album, released in 2013, featured hit tracks “Daddy Mi” with Davido and “Eleniyan” with Wizkid.

Reminisce also discussed his subsequent albums, including “Baba Hafusa” and “El Hadj,” which debuted on the Billboard World Chart.

The rapper recently released a new EP, “Sui Generis,” which blends hip-hop, fuji, and Afrobeats.
