British band Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres Tour’ has made history by becoming the first rock music tour to gross over $1 billion. This milestone surpasses the previous record held by Sir Elton John’s five-year farewell tour, making it the highest-grossing rock tour in music history.
According to Billboard, Coldplay’s tour is also the first music tour to officially report a worldwide gross of over $1 billion. This achievement follows American singer Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour, which became the first music tour to surpass $1 billion in revenue last year.
Notably, Nigerian singers Ayra Starr and Burna Boy were special guests at the Italy and Dublin stops of Coldplay’s tour, respectively.
