Dammy Krane Released After Six Days in Detention, Apologizes to Davido

Popular Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has been released from police custody after six days of detention. The singer was released on Thursday, August 29, 2024, following his arrest and detention on allegations of defamation by fellow artist Davido.

Daily Post Nigeria recalls that Dammy Krane had claimed on his X handle that he was illegally arrested at Davido’s behest. The news of his release was shared by social media critic Verydarkman, also known as VDM.

In a trending video posted by VDM on Instagram, Dammy Krane publicly apologized to Davido for the allegations. VDM captioned the video, “Dammykrane is out. Dear @davido, as you have honored me by listening to my plea in less than 4 hours, God will honor you. I believe God is giving him a second chance, and I hope he focuses on his music moving forward.”

In the video, Dammy Krane expressed his gratitude and apologized for his previous statements. “I want to say a big thank you to my brother. There are a lot of words that ought not to be said. I want to apologize for Tagbo’s death allegation. David is still my brother, and we are going to find a major ground to resolve everything,” he said.
