Grammy-winning American gospel singer, Kirk Franklin, has opened up about a painful incident that led him to stop talking to his biological mother. In an emotional interview on the ‘Funky Friday’ podcast, Franklin shared that the incident occurred when his mother brought her new husband to a family meeting meant to help his sister, who had just been released from prison.
Franklin, 54, recalled that the meeting turned heated when his mother’s new husband interfered, leading to a heated argument. The final straw came when his mother chose to leave with her new husband, prioritizing him over her children. Franklin felt betrayed and promised himself that he would never allow himself to be treated that way again.
