Asake Reveals Wizkid as Major Inspiration in New Album ‘Lungu Boy’

Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has opened up about the significant influence his Grammy-winning colleague Wizkid has had on his music career. Asake shared this revelation while discussing their collaboration on his newly-released third studio album, ‘Lungu Boy’.

In the side notes of their joint track ‘MMS’ on digital streaming platforms, Asake expressed his long-standing admiration for Wizkid. He mentioned that he had been eagerly waiting for the right opportunity to work with the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker.

“It’s no secret that Wizkid is one of my music inspirations. As a young striving artiste in Lagos, I’ve been waiting for that right song so when the opportunity came it was a no brainer,” Asake wrote.

He further explained that ‘MMS’, which stands for ‘Mr Money Sound’, encapsulates his musical journey and the influence of his inspirations.
