The Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has criticized rising singer Ayo Maff for his “indecent” lyrics in his new song “Last Week”. The singer bragged about using cannabis and contacting his dealer in the song’s opening verse.
SP Hundeyin expressed concern about the lyrics, stating that half of the youths in prison wouldn’t be there if they didn’t indulge in drug abuse. He noted that illicit drugs are a precursor to crime.
The police spokesman’s reaction came after a viral snippet of the song on social media. He warned that the lyrics could have a negative impact on young people.
