Nigerian music sensation Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has made history by surpassing one billion streams in the United Kingdom. The “African Giant” crooner received a prestigious BRIT plaque during his sold-out show at London Stadium on Saturday night, recognizing this remarkable feat.
In joining forces with fellow Nigerian artist Wizkid, Burna Boy becomes one of the only African musicians to achieve over a billion streams in the UK. His sixth studio album, “Love, Damini,” also holds the distinction of being the highest-peaking African album on the UK chart, having topped it in July 2022.
And that’s not all—following his electrifying performance, Burna Boy became the first African artist to sell out the 80,000-capacity London Stadium twice.
