Popular Nigerian singer, Davido, has taken legal action against Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first child, Imade, seeking joint custody of their daughter. The lawsuit, filed at the Lagos State High Court, requests “an order granting him unfettered and unrestricted access” to Imade.
Davido’s lawyers, Olaniyi Arije and Okey Barrah, allege that despite his consistent financial support for Imade’s well-being and education, Sophia has made unreasonable demands, including rejecting a luxurious apartment worth N200 million and demanding annual payments of N5 million for a rented facility.
The singer claims to have provided a Range Rover SUV and a Highlander SUV for Imade’s transportation and additional funds for the vehicle’s repair. He also alleges that Sophia has shown him “unwarranted cruelty” and inflicted pain upon him.
The lawsuit marks LD/1587PMC/2024 has Davido as the applicant and Sophia Momodu as the sole respondent. The court has not yet ruled on the matter.
