Nigerian singer and producer Young Jonn recently opened up about a mortifying experience early in his career. Speaking with MTV Base, Jonn, known for hits like “Dada,” recalled feeling humiliated during the 2014 music video shoot for Olamide’s song “Awon Goons Mi.”
“We were on set, and everyone was taking turns getting in front of the camera for some shots,” Jonn explained. “At the time, I was new to the YBNL label, so the director, Unlimited LA, probably didn’t recognize me. But when my turn came,he yelled at me to get out of the frame! I felt like I wanted the ground to swallow me whole.”
Despite the awkward encounter, Jonn laughs it off, acknowledging it’s all water under the bridge now.
