The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last election, Peter Obi, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope. The former Anambra State governor visited the family on Saturday to offer his condolences over the untimely death of Junior Pope.
During the visit, Peter Obi consoled Junior Pope’s mother, Mrs. Maria Odonwodo, his widow, Jennifer, and his children. He also signed the condolence register to show his respect for the deceased.
Junior Pope died on April 10, 2024, in a boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra State, alongside three others. He was laid to rest on Friday at his hometown in Ukehe, Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State.
The visit was made public by Nollywood actor and former spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo, who shared pictures and videos from the visit on his Instagram page.
Peter Obi’s condolence visit is a gesture of support and solidarity with the family of Junior Pope during their time of grief.
