Popular Nigerian singer Skiibii is making headlines after a social media account dedicated to spotting counterfeit luxury watches, @Fakewatchbuster, called out a wristwatch he wore in a recent picture as a fake Richard Millie. The drama escalated when Skiibii’s ex-girlfriend, actress Ms DSF, joined the online banter with a playful jab.
The now-viral Instagram post by @Fakewatchbuster highlighted discrepancies in the watch’s design, suggesting it wasn’t a genuine Richard Millie. Skiibii’s ex-girlfriend added fuel to the fire by leaving a comment with a laughing emoji and the phrase “[Made in Yaba],” playfully implying the watch was a local imitation – Yaba being a Lagos suburb known for its bustling market scene.
Facing the online buzz, Skiibii took to his Instagram story to defend himself. He shared a video clip where he is apparently receiving the watch as a gift from a friend. In the video, Skiibii expresses his surprise and excitement at receiving the Richard Millie, thanking his friend named Hassan.
