Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior has brushed off intense speculation that he could win this year’s Ballon d’Or award, insisting he remains “calm” and focused on helping his team win the Champions League title.
Fresh from being named Man of the Match in Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich, which secured their spot in the Champions League final, Vinícius Júnior emphasized his priority lies in helping the team achieve a record-extending 15th Champions League title.
“Everyone talks about the Ballon d’Or, but I’m very calm,” he said. “I want to win another Champions League with this team. I can do great things this season, and then I have to go with Brazil [for the Copa América]. I always think about the teams first and then me.”
Vinícius Júnior praised the team’s hard work and dedication, saying, “We were able to place the best team in the world in another final. We have 25 stars in the team, all of us have worked hard to achieve our aim, which is to go to London [for the Champions League final] and to win LaLiga. We have won LaLiga, we are going to London.”
With his sights set on Champions League glory, Vinícius Júnior is determined to lead Real Madrid to victory, putting individual accolades on the backburner for now.
