Maverick singer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has warned the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government against arresting the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his continuous criticism of the administration.
In a statement on his social media handle, Charly Boy claimed that there are reports of an attempt to arrest Obi due to his refusal to back down on calling out the government for good governance and accountability.
He warned that any attempt to arrest or file charges against Obi would be met with resistance unlike anything seen in Nigeria’s history, and urged the Federal Government to tread with caution to avoid setting the nation on fire with an illegal arrest.
“We call on Tinubu’s government to desist from their evil plans against Peter Obi because Nigeria will not remain the same,” Charly Boy wrote, adding that the “Obidients” (Peter Obi’s supporters) are ready for any eventuality.
