Peter Obi Donates N10m To Muslim Women Hospital In Kaduna

2 Min Read

The 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has donated N10 million to the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN) Hospital in Kaduna.

He disclosed this in a statement shared on X on Tuesday evening.

Obi said, “This hospital, an integral part of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), exemplifies the compassionate ethos of community service.

“Established in 1985, FOMWAN is a nonprofit umbrella organisation dedicated, among other things, to empowering Muslim women across Nigeria.

“With a multifaceted approach encompassing initiatives in education and health. This organisation’s hospital plays a pivotal role in addressing maternal healthcare needs in today’s Nigeria.

“With maternal healthcare demanding urgent attention, especially considering Nigeria’s surpassing of India in infant mortality rate, it is imperative to support and uplift facilities like the FOMWAN Hospital.

“My visit provided me with the opportunity to engage with the dedicated workers and volunteers who tirelessly contribute to the provision of essential healthcare services.

“In recognition of their invaluable efforts, I pledged my support by presenting them with a contribution of 10 million Naira, acknowledging the significance of their ongoing work.

“I firmly believe that investing in organisations like FOMWAN not only enhances access to quality healthcare but also aligns with the broader objective of fostering a more just and prosperous society.

“Our dream of a better nation can only be realized if we endure that future generations of Nigerians are born into a healthy nation with optimum healthcare facilities.”
