Nigerian dancer Korra Obidi has hit back at claims from her estranged husband, Justin Dean, that she staged a recent attack on herself for publicity.
On Thursday, Obidi took to Instagram Live to share that she was the victim of a knife and acid attack in the United Kingdom. Following the incident, Dean posted on his own Instagram, suggesting celebrities sometimes fabricate situations “to drum up views.” Many speculated his comment was aimed at his ex-wife.
In a response video posted earlier this Friday, Obidi vehemently denied the accusation. “I understand some artists create scenarios like this for clout chasing,” she said, “but I promise you I’m not one of them.“
Obidi went on to detail the assault, emphasizing her injuries. “I had a whole bottle of acid thrown at my face,” she explained. “I escaped with the best possible scenario, holding onto the knife. I have scars.” She concluded, “I’m glad this was live, and there is ample evidence.“
