A light-hearted moment on the new reality show “Ebuka Turns Up Africa” quickly turned into a heated debate between Nollywood actors Zubby Michael and Timini Egbuson, as the two clashed over who holds the title of “biggest actor” on the continent.
While exchanging gifts with fellow cast members in the show’s first episode, Egbuson playfully declared himself the “biggest actor out of Africa,” sparking a reaction from Michael.
“Stop f**king playing, he’s kidding,” Michael responded jokingly before asserting his own claim to the title. “It’s not coming from a place of pride,” he clarified, “but I’m the biggest actor in Africa.“
Michael went on to defend his claim, citing his career longevity, awards, and diverse market reach across platforms like YouTube, DVDs, and cinemas. He further stated that Egbuson’s fame was limited geographically, suggesting it wouldn’t extend beyond the Lekki area of Lagos.
The exchange escalated when Egbuson questioned Michael’s acting range, claiming he plays the “same character in every movie.” Michael responded controversially, stating, “Again, it’s not coming from a place of pride o, but I can buy Timini.” This remark visibly angered Egbuson, who retorted that Michael didn’t know enough about him to make such a statement.
