The Lagos State Police Command has nabbed three male one-chance robbers, Mayowa Akinjide, 44, Aghama Ikponmwen, 46, and Ahmed Jaleola.
The command said this in an X post on Saturday.
“One-chance” robbery is a term used in Nigeria to describe a type of criminal activity where unsuspecting victims are lured into a vehicle, often a taxi, bus or a seemingly normal private car, only to be robbed or sometimes kidnapped.
The criminals typically pose as legitimate taxi, bus drivers or passengers and use various tactics to deceive their victims.
According to the post, the suspects were arrested by police personnel responding to a distress call about a ‘one-chance’ incident.
The police said a female victim, Abisola Taiwo, was rescued.
The police said investigation is ongoing.
