Renowned Nigerian songstress and multiple award-winning artist, Tiwa Savage, recently bared her soul in a video shared on her Instagram account, addressing her ongoing battle with poor eyesight.
In the heartfelt video posted on Friday, the Afrobeats diva disclosed that she has been grappling with eyesight challenges for the past three years. Tiwa revealed that reading had become a struggle, with her vision becoming increasingly blurry, especially when attempting to decipher text in small fonts.
The 44-year-old music icon candidly shared that her eye issues had escalated in recent months, prompting her to take proactive steps toward finding a solution. In a bid to understand the root cause, Tiwa Savage sought the expertise of an optician in London, who delivered the diagnosis that her short-range vision was encountering difficulties.
Expressing her determination to address the issue, Tiwa Savage decided to invest in medicated glasses. In her own words, she narrated, “So my long sight is okay for now, he said, not great, but my short sight. Like literally, I will be in a restaurant and I won’t be able to read the menu.”
The singer humorously shared her experience of having to resort to screen grabbing messages and zooming in to read them. Despite the challenges, Tiwa Savage exuded confidence and resilience in the face of her eyesight struggles.
