As part of moves aimed at repositioning the transportation sector in Lagos, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, accompanied Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on a working visit to the headquarters of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in Beijing, China.
Under the stewardship of Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, the delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with CCECC officials, laying the groundwork for the implementation of several key projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and mobility for millions of Lagos residents.
During the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced that the highly anticipated Red Line Rail project, spanning from Agbado to Otto, was poised for commissioning.
The Governor also reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the Blue Line Rail project’s second phase, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive and integrated transportation system for Lagosians.
Integral to the discussions were plans for the construction of the long-awaited 4th Mainland Bridge, the expansion of the Blue Line Rail project, development of the Lekki Airport, construction of the Epe Bridge, and various other infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity across the state.
Notably, the impending launch of the Red Line Rail for commercial operations is set to be a momentous occasion, with the esteemed presence of His Excellency President Bola Tinubu expected to grace the event.
In his remarks, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Lagos State House of Assembly to collaborate closely with the executive branch to ensure the swift and effective implementation of key projects that will significantly improve the lives of Lagosians.
