If President Bola Tinubu did not know Nigerians were hungry, he got a rude awakening in Lagos on Friday.
The Herald can report that a crowd of Nigerians gathered to shout at the top of their voices that they were hungry.
The incident occurred as the president’s convoy of more than 30 vehicles meandered through a busy street on Lagos Island.
A video of the incident is trending on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Tinubu, a former two-term governor of Lagos, is currently in his home state for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
However, as his convoy navigated a densely-populated area close to the president’s Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi home, some Lagosians could be heard screaming in Yoruba, “Ebi n’pa wa (We’re hungry).”
“Ebi n’pa ara ilu (The citizens are hungry).”
