Nollywood actress Bidemi Kosoko has faced a devastating loss as fire engulfed her residence. The news was shared by Bidemi’s sister, Sola Kosoko-Abina, who took to Instagram to reveal the extent of the tragedy, accompanied by videos showcasing the aftermath of the fire.
Sola detailed the family’s traditional Boxing Day celebration at their father’s place, where gifts are exchanged and unwrapped. However, this year took an unexpected turn when an alarming call interrupted their festivities, informing them that Bidemi’s apartment and her neighbor’s were on fire.
Narrating the incident, Sola explained, “In the middle of our merriment, we received an alarming call that Bidemi’s apartment was on fire as well as her neighbour’s apartment.” She highlighted that Bidemi, her husband, children, and domestic staff were away at their father’s residence, and her apartment was locked at the time of the incident.
Firefighters swiftly responded to the distress call, and with the assistance of Bidemi’s friend Taiwo and her husband, they managed to extinguish the flames. Sola shared the emotional experience through video calls, expressing gratitude for the supportive community and neighbors who played a crucial role in mitigating the damage.
Sola conveyed her appreciation, saying, “People in the neighbourhood showed love and support to ensure the fire was put out. We appreciate you all for your show of love and kindness. Such a thing will not happen to anyone again I pray.”
Despite the loss, the family remains thankful that no lives were lost in the incident. Sola concluded, “In all, we are thankful to God for sparing our lives as no one was caught in the fire. We shall witness the year 2024 in peace and joy. Please thank God for us. In all, we give THANKS TO HIM.“
