Renowned Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has openly disclosed her stance on nudity in movies, emphasizing that the script’s justification is the sole condition for her to consider such a role. The 56-year-old thespian, known for her powerful performances, shared her perspective in the latest episode of the Terms And Conditions podcast.
During the podcast, Ireti emphasized that she would only agree to nudity if it serves a legitimate purpose within the storyline. She expressed a firm rejection of roles that exploit nudity for mere publicity and commercial gains, highlighting her commitment to projects with meaningful narratives.
The actress explained, “There are characters that I wouldn’t play. And it has nothing to do with love scenes or nudity. For instance, if you expect me to go nude in a film, the script would have to justify it. If it was for sheer sensationalism and click baits, absolutely no.”
Ireti further elaborated on her willingness to engage in challenging scenes if they contribute to portraying sensitive subjects like rape or abuse realistically. She emphasized the importance of discussing any concerns or objections regarding a character or role before stepping onto the set.
