Police Arrest Three Men Over Suspected Human Hearts In Ogun

Police operatives at the Zone 2 Command in Onikan, Lagos, have arrested three suspects in connection with the discovery of two suspected human hearts in an apartment in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

The main suspect, Moshood Najimdeen, allegedly hired the services of Adebanjo Wasiu to procure two human hearts.

Wasiu, who reportedly received N50,000 for the task, then contacted Segun Asunni, who is accused of providing the human hearts.

Confirming the arrest, SP Ayuba Umma, the spokesperson for the Zone 2 Command, stated that the operation took place at Najimdeen’s residence in the Oke-Ola area of Ago-Iwoye, where the suspected human hearts were recovered.

During the investigation, Wasiu and Asunni claimed that the alleged human hearts were, in fact, pig hearts.

Wasiu explained, “When Najimdeen contacted me for two human hearts, I told my friend Segun Asunni, who advised that we should deceive him by getting the hearts of two pigs.”

SP Umma disclosed that an investigation has been initiated into the alleged offense, and the suspected human hearts have been sent to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for thorough examination and confirmation.

He said that further details will be communicated as the investigation progresses.

He said; “Iinvestigation has commenced into the alleged offence while the two suspected human hearts have been sent to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH for thorough examination and confirmation. Further findings will be communicated.”

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Muhammed Ali, urged residents to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities in their areas to the nearest police station.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in Lagos and Ogun States.
