Renowned Nigerian rapper CDQ has provided clarification on his public criticism of colleague Odumodublvck, shedding light on a seeming discrepancy between his public remarks and private messages commending the artist’s “sound.”
The controversy arose when CDQ, guesting on Cool FM Nigeria’s Big Friday Show hosted by reality star Tacha, expressed criticism of Odumodublvck and Shallipopi for what he deemed “poor lyrics.” The comments sparked discussions in the entertainment sphere.
In response, Odumodublvck shared a screenshot of a private conversation with CDQ on Instagram, showcasing the rapper’s praise for his “sound.” The direct message from CDQ read, “Odumodublvck. Bad boy, I f*ck with ur sound my brother.”
While revealing these private messages, Odumodublvck captioned the post, expressing surprise with, “Ah egbon, no be so o!”
CDQ, addressing the apparent contradiction, took to his Instagram story to explain his stance. He clarified that appreciating Odumodublvck’s “sound” doesn’t necessarily imply endorsement of the lyrics. CDQ stated, “I f*ck wit ur sound doesn’t mean I f*ck with ur lyrics bra. I was only trying to encourage, so @odumodublvck no gas ursef up, ou dey bring my dm com out to do news lol… everyone out here knows CDQ is that guy that doesn’t give a f*ck about nobody, be u or anything. I’m very expensive, and I’ll say it as it is.”
