Renowned Nigerian singer, John Ighodaro, popularly known as Johnny Drille, has opened up about his love story with his wife, Rima Tahini, describing her as his first love.
In a recent podcast interview with actress Iyabo Ojo, Johnny Drille shared the details of his love journey with Tahini. The Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy, had previously disclosed in July that Johnny Drille and Rima Tahini were married, with the revelation emerging a year after the couple secretly tied the knot.
During the conversation, Johnny Drille disclosed that his connection with Rima Tahini was love at first sight. He reminisced about the initial encounter in 2018 when he spotted her in the front row at one of his shows, initially thinking she was of mixed race.
As fate would have it, their paths crossed again during a show in Abuja, leading to meaningful conversations and a deepening connection. Drille revealed that by January of the following year, he knew he was going to marry her and made his intentions clear.
For Johnny Drille, this love story carries a unique twist as Rima Tahini holds the distinction of being his first girlfriend. He expressed, “I married the first woman that I said ‘I love you’ to.”
