Premier League fans were in full attendance to witness the much anticipated fixture between hosts Arsenal and defending champions Manchester City at the Emirates. The Stadium was filled as fans from both clubs settled to watch what turned out to be game filled with thrills and excitement. The game also marked debuts for Frank Lampard and Danny Welbeck who were fielded for City and Arsenal respectively.
Manchester City took the lead in the 28th minute when Argentine international Sergio Aguero neatly converted a cross from Jesus Navas.
The Gunners fought back and earned an equalizer thanks to a brilliant combination from Ramsey and Wilshere defeated Joe Hart as Wilshere had a gorgeous finish from the right of the six-yard box.
The match went on with efforts from debutant Welbeck but goalkeeper Joe Hart was on track with a string of saves.
The host side came from behind to lead the game as Alexis Sanchez’s side-footed volley flew into city’s net. The goal was arguably the best of the game.
Poor defending from Arsenal gave Man City a chance to level the scores with a header goal from Demichelis.
Both teams struggled on with unending efforts from eager strikers, and referee Mark Clattenburg who seemed to be enjoying the match added 6 minutes extra time.
The added time heightened the tension in the game and Man City almost claimed the victory through Samir Nasri but unfortunately the goal was ruled offside.
The match ended 2 – 2 with both teams claiming a point each.
Arsenal are still unbeaten after a win and three draws so far this season.
