“We paid Davido $94,600 to perform at an event and he refused to show up” — NFF Former President, Amaju Pinnick

Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has called out popular Afrobeat singer, Davido, for allegedly reneging on his commitment to perform at an event after being paid a hefty sum of $94,600.

Pinnick, while addressing the audience, revealed that the organisers had not only compensated the singer generously but also arranged for a private jet amounting to $18,000 for his convenience. However, much to their dismay, Davido failed to make an appearance at the event as agreed upon.

Expressing his disappointment at Davido’s unfulfilled commitment, Pinnick highlighted that the organisers were left with no choice but to replace the artist with another act named Shallipopi, who took the stage in Davido’s absence.

Pinnick emphasized, “We paid Davido $94,600 on the 6th of April. We paid $18,000 for his plane. If he says he’s a big boy, we will tell him we are bigger than him. I’m not joking.

The former NFF president continued by drawing attention to the wealth of talent in Warri, asserting that the city boasts a plethora of stars across various industries, making it clear that no individual artist, regardless of their stature, is bigger than the city itself. He specifically mentioned renowned figures like Burna Boy, RMD in the acting industry, and Ali Baba in the comedy scene, emphasizing their significant contributions and connection to the Warri community.
