The Nigerian Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu has revealed that two recent suspected cases of Ebola have both been confirmed negative.
The first of these cases to gain National attention is that of a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University who had contact with the Port Harcourt based doctor Enemuo who eventually died of the virus.
The student was quarantined after revealing she had contact with the Doctor at a naming ceremony in Port Harcourt, however she has been cleared by medical specialists who found she was negative.
The latest case is that of a South African woman who arrived Nigeria from Casablanca, Morocco. She was detained by airporrt health officials after displaying symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
Dan Nwomeh, the Spokesperson to the Minister of Health, said the woman tested negative and that Nigeria has no confirmed case of Ebola at the moment.
