Renowned Nigerian actress, Juliana Olayode, has openly shared her challenging journey with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), shedding light on the ordeal and the resilient approach she adopted to overcome it.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition impacting a woman’s hormone levels, characterized by a range of symptoms related to menstrual irregularities and excess androgen levels.
In a candid YouTube video, Olayode bravely recounted enduring an extended period of continuous bleeding for four months during her struggle with PCOS. Additionally, she grappled with Psoriasis, a chronic condition causing symptoms such as scaly, dry, or itchy skin.
Determined to take control of her health, Olayode made a conscious decision to shift her approach. She opted to stop relying solely on medications and began incorporating prayer, faith, and lifestyle changes into her healing journey.
“I bled for four months nonstop. I am sharing this because I know there are a lot of women battling with hormonal imbalance/PCOS,” Olayode disclosed.
“You probably feel tired, weird, and ashamed. You probably have spent so much money on medication and you have not seen any changes.”
Encouraging others facing similar challenges, she emphasized the importance of embracing a healthy lifestyle. For Olayode, this entailed modifying her dietary choices, a crucial aspect she emphasized in her journey to recovery.
“When I got my healing, I also had to change my lifestyle and the things I eat. The majority of the health issues we have are because of the things that we consume. And to stay healthy, you must eat right,” Olayode concluded, sharing her transformational path toward recovery and well-being.
