OBJ’s son turns Boko Haram War Hero

2 Min Read

Lt. Col Adeboye Obasanjo has been making the headlines for all the right reasons.

The son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo has transcended into a war hero after failing to succumb to bullets from deadly Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

Adeboye was injured as he advanced a platoon to face insurgents at the key boundary town of Michika in Adamawa State.

A top military source told This Day on Monday that his injuries were not life threatening.

“He is currently receiving treatment”, the source said.

“I can confirm the incident is true. He is a committed military officer on duty,” he added.

Yesterday, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar visited Adeboye in the recovery ward of a secret military hospital facility.

Atiku said the courage displayed by Lt. Col Adeboye was reminiscent of that of his father.

“He even marched before me even as he was recovering from gunshots,” Atiku reportedly said.

Mike Omeri, National Orientation Agency boss told the press, “I spoke with the son of Gen. Obasanjo’s son   that was involved in the incident of yesterday(Monday). He is in very high spirits and he is assuring Nigerians that what is on his mind now is to get well and go back to defend his fatherland.

“That was what he told me today(Tuesday). And this is the kind of patriotism and the spirit that   even those of us who are not on the line of battle should exhibit. We should continuously support members of the armed forces and support them in prayers.”
