Arsenal’s summer signing Danny Welbeck had a swell time proving his abilities in the center forward as he powered through a formidable defense put forward by challenging opponents Switzerland to land England a 2 – 0 Away win.
Roy Hodgson side who defeated Norway 1- 0 in a friendly at Wembley on Wednesday, waxed on stronger as they faced a more competitive side, Switzerland, in their first Group E fixture for the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Arsenal’s deadline day signing Danny Welbeck scored a brace, one goal in the 59th minute and another in the last minute of the Game.
Welbeck said: “We created a number of chances in the first half where the final pass was missing.
“But once we got the goal we were in control. It was a good team performance overall.
“There was a little bit of relief because we had chances before that and could have done better with them.
“We showed good work ethic, with everyone playing for each other.”
