Asari Dokubo blames Nigerian Army, Navy for oil theft

A former agitator, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has blamed Nigerian security forces for the bulk of oil theft in the country.

Dokubo spoke on Friday after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Villa in Abuja.

“The military is at the centre of oil theft and we have to make this very clear to the Nigerian public that 99 per cent of oil theft can be traced to the Nigerian military, the Army and the Navy especially,” Dokubo told State House correspondents.

Dokubo pledged his support to the Federal Government to bring oil theft to “zero,” expressing confidence that the Tinubu-led administration would “fish out” the culpable elements in the military.

On the visit, the former agitator said, “It’s just to come and see my father and give him a word of support for what he has achieved and what he has done so far.

“When I’m speaking about the President, I’m speaking from a personal point of view. I will do everything to make my father succeed.

“That is a promise I’ve given to myself and to him (Tinubu). Oil theft will be stopped. There will be zero oil in the Niger Delta In shaa Allahu.”
