Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has been ruled out for three weeks after picking up a thing injury during training with the national team.
The player will miss England’s Euro 2016 qualifier in Switzerland on Monday, he is also likely to miss Liverpool’s opening Champion’s League fixture against Ludogorets Razgard as well and at least two Premier League games.
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is the favourite to replace Sturridge in England’s attack.
Sturridge tweeted: “Heartbroken soul right now believe me. Hopefully be back soon fighting fit for LFC. Nothing worse than being injured. My heads gone…”
England international squad has lost Sturridge, Ben Foster and Jack Colback to injury.
……Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson is out too
New reports from the England camp suggest that Liverpool player Jordan Henderson limped out of training on the eve of their Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland.
The midfielder did not complete last night’s training session and appeared to be nursing a problem on his right ankle.
He was assessed by England’s medical staff and managed to walk off the pitch unaided, but the player will be considered a doubt for their game tonight.
The extent of his injury is yet to be released.
