Former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has urged President Bola Tinubu to come clean to Nigerians on the content of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari’s handover notes.
Sani said this in a tweet on Saturday while reflecting on the hardship faced by Nigerians following Tinubu’s decision to end the fuel subsidy regime.
Recall that Tinubu announced at his inauguration on Monday, May 29, that he was removing fuel subsidy.
Since the announcement, the pump price of petrol has skyrocketed across the country, going as high as N600/litre in some major cities and urban areas in the country.
Sani said that Nigerians could not be expected to make sacrifices for the nation if leaders were not transparent.
He urged Tinubu to show transparency by revealing the true picture of the nation’s state of affairs as handed over to him by Buhari.
“The Tinubu Government must set aside party solidarity and tell the country the truth about what they inherited as contained in the handover book.
“It’s unfair to ask the poor masses to make sacrifices without knowing the details of what happened under the last administration,” Shehu Sani said.
