Tony Mwaba Kazadi, a Congolese minister accused of impregnating his deputy, has called his action an “accident”.
Kazadi, who is the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), reportedly impregnated his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia.
The duo, who are married to separate spouses, developed an affection for each other while working together in the education ministry, local reports say.
A local journalist blew the lid on the affair which led to the deputy minister’s pregnancy on Twitter.
Since the news broke, many citizens of DR Congo have berated the duo for their conduct, which they tagged dishonourable.
According to The Heritage Times, Namasia was appointed the National Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education in the Democratic Republic Of Congo under Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde’s cabinet on April 12, 2021.
