More details have emerged about the death of Instagram vendor, Olayinka Adeshina better known as Khadi, in a hotel in Ibadan after lodging with a man.

The man, whose identity has not been revealed, has presented himself to the police and has been detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyangaku in Oyo State, reports say.

The Herald learnt that the Instagram vendor lodged with the man at Wetland Hotel in the Akobo area of Ibadan last Wednesday after informing friends that she was meeting an individual.

She was found dead on Thursday, a few hours after the man had checked out of the hotel.

The man, who is said to be a regular guest at the hotel, voluntarily presented himself to the police at Akobo Police Division having heard that his attention was needed by the police over Adeshina’s death, The Punch reports.

“We wouldn’t have known until 12noon check out time if not for the power bank she borrowed from one of the receptionists. When we discovered that she was still breathing, we quickly called policemen at Akobo Police Station but unfortunately, she died before getting to the hospital.

“We called the suspect to inform him about the incident. He rushed down to the hotel to present himself to the police.

“He has been arrested and the case has been transferred to the SCID. He is one of our customers here,” The Punch quoted a staff of the hotel, who craved anonymity, as saying.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation is ongoing.
