Spokesperson of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Dino Melaye, has distanced himself from a comment attributed to him about the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
Melaye was quoted to have said that the CJN went to President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s Abuja residence on the night of March 2.
“Ask CJN, Olukayode Ariwoola what he was doing in Tinubu’s residence in Abuja last night being 2nd of March. After Peter Obi of Labour Party said that he would go to court. Everyone should be aware that CJN is a Yoruba man from Oyo State ,On Buharis Orders,” the PDP chieftain was quoted to have said.
But in a tweet on Friday, Melaye refuted the “fake news”.
He blamed the rumour on “people of inordinate ambition” and urged Nigerians to ignore it.
“There is a fake news saying I authored a release saying CJN visited Tinubu.
“It is not from me and should be completely ignored. It is from people of inordinate ambition and capricious manifestation. Senator Dino Melaye,” he wrote.
