Nigerian media mogul and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Raymond Dokpesi was on Sunday briefly detained on arrival at London Heathrow airport.
Dokpesi, the Founder of DAAR Communications Limited, was picked up shortly after arriving at Heathrow from a connecting flight via Frankfurt from Abuja.
UK’s Immigration authorities invited the PDP chieftain off the plane for questioning before other passengers onboard the Lufthansa Airlines flight disembarked.
“Dokpesi was delayed at the airport for some hours before his passport was stamped and he was cleared by British Immigration officials for entry into the country,” the management of AIT, one of Dokpesi’s media outfits, said in a Monday statement.
Dokpesi, who is a strong ally of PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, went to London ahead of the latter’s meetings in the United Kingdom today.
