Former US President Barack Obama’s daughter, Malia’s smoking habits has attracted the attention of many netizens, many of whom advised her to stop.
Malia, 24, is the 44th President’s older daughter, and a Harvard University-educated fashionista with a budding interest in television and filmmaking.
She has also gained moderate attention with her interest in activism, joining a protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, and later the nationwide demonstrations that followed the death of George Floyd in 2020.
However, her fascination with cigarette smoking, after she was photographed in public taking a puff on multiple occasions, has left admirers worried.
Some trolls also took advantage of the situation to brand her a hypocrite, after a photo of her younger self wearing a shirt with the inscription “Smoking Kills” also circulated.
A Twitter user @daddydodon brought attention to Malia Obama’s smoking habit by sharing photos of her smoking at different occasions.

The tweet quickly went viral, getting more than 19 million views in five days.
Not a few commentators asked the former first daughter to drop the habit, which they called “dangerous”.
