Adetutu Adedokun’s body has not been recovered from lagoon – LASEMA

2 Min Read

The body of Adetutu Adedokun, a Department of State Services (DSS) unarmed instructor who allegedly jumped inside the lagoon along the Third Mainland Bridge corridor, has yet to be recovered.

Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), also stated that investigations have failed to produce the driver of the car she (Adetutu Adedokun) boarded prior to the unfortunate incident.

He also stated that the response team’s focus has shifted from rescue to recovery, and that they are now observing the tide and relying on locals for any useful information.

However, our crime correspondent’s interaction with some of the local divers provided insight into the entire procedure.

Ebitime Joshua, a fisherman at the Ebute Jetty, stated that local knowledge has shown that any living thing that finds its way into the water body sinks straight to the sea bed.

He went on to say that the food consumed by the individual involved prior to the incident usually determines recovery.

The secret police, on the other hand, has kept quiet about the incident.

Adetutu, who was in her late 30s at the time, received a letter of commendation from DSS Director General Yusuf Bichi as the best unarmed combat operative in her set a few months ago.

A few weeks ago, the victim’s fiance was also reported to have proposed to her.

Adetutu jumped into the lagoon Thursday afternoon after alighting from an Uber taxi car on the bridge. The taxi driver claimed she had an argument with her fiance before getting out of the car.
