APC won in 2015 because PDP didn’t perform – Ikpeazu

Abia State Gov, Okezie Ikpeazu

The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) grabbed power in 2015 because the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed to live up to expectations.

Ikpeazu said this on Wednesday evening when the Acting Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, led some members of the board on a visit to the governor at his country home in Umuobiakwa.

The governor said that the PDP could fail in the 2023 elections unless there is genuine reconciliation.

He stressed that PDP must remain angry and hungry for power, adding that the party must correct the mistakes that made it lose the election in 2015.

“Our ineptitude in the things we did not do well led this country to where we are heading now; otherwise we will not have gone into the hands of APC in the first place.

“We are not in the same place we were in 2015. We need to look at the variables that have changed and respond to these variables and dynamics accordingly.

“We need to remain hungry for power so that our adrenaline level will remain optimum and drive us towards attaining that goal.

“All countries in this world that have risen from the ashes of civil war, quarrels, and bitter clashes are countries that did genuine truth and reconciliation. I pray that we would realise that there is no half measure to victory in politics,” Ikpeazu said.

He promised to assist the BoT in resolving the crisis within the party to ensure the party succeeds in 2023.

Responding, Wabara said that the party would reconcile all aggrieved members.

He explained that the board would visit state governors and other stakeholders to ensure peace is restored.
