Have you heard Eminem and Sia’s new track?
It’s called ‘Guts over Fear’.
Consequence of Sound breaks it down
Following 2001’s Training Day, actor Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua have reconvened for the upcoming action-drama The Equalizer. It’s not the project’s only reunion, though: Eminem and Sia, who previously collaborated on “Beautiful Pain”, recorded the new single “Guts Over Fear” for the film’s soundtrack.
Though it kicks off with a little bit of harmonizing from Em, the track follows a similar formula as his other collaborations with heavyweight pop singers (mostly Rihanna and Skylar Grey). Em drops rapid-fire lines about overcoming adversity and harnessing anger while Sia punctuates the intensity with some angelic crooning. They’re not exactly reinventing the wheel, but the pair have a certain undeniable chemistry.
“Guts Over Fear” is available now via iTunes, and also serves as the lead single off Eminem’s surprise new release, Shady XV, due out for Record Store Day Black Friday (November 28th).
