EFCC must question anyone that purchases N100m APC presidential form – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former Special Assistant on New Media to former President Goodluck Jonathan, says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) must investigate anyone that coughs out N100 million to purchase the APC presidential forms.

He said this in a tweet on Wednesday, hours after the ruling party confirmed the costs of its nomination and expression of interest forms for the presidential, governorship, Senate, and House of Representatives seats in 2023.

According to the party, governorship costs N50 million; Senate, N20 million; House of Representatives, N10 million and State Houses of Assembly, N2 million.

On the other hand, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fixed the cost of its presidential form at N40 million, governorship at N21 million, Senate at N3.5 million, and House of Representatives at N2.5 million.

The cost of the APC forms caused an uproar on social media on Wednesday, with many Nigerians describing it as “exorbitant” and “exploitative”.

In a reaction, Omokri recounted how the EFCC hounded popular socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu aka Obi Cubana over the source of his wealth.

Omokri, who is a US-based preacher, said that the anti-graft agency must extend the same treatment to purchasers of the APC presidential forms.

“EFCC saw Obi Cubana, a millionaire businessman, spending millions at his mum’s burial, and invited him for questioning.

“If EFCC does not invite any APC government official that pays the ₦100 million APC Presidential nomination for questioning, then they are biased!” he said.
