The oldest person ever elected to the office of the President of the United States, Joe Biden committed a gaffe during his State of the Union address on Tuesday.
Biden, 79, while speaking about the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin, said: “Putin may circle Kiev with tanks, but he’ll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”
As Biden finished saying “Iranians” and rounding off his speech to resounding applause from a joint session of Congress, Vice President Kamala Harris, who is standing behind her principal, can be heard mouthing the correct word, “Ukrainian.”
The blunder further validates the result of a January poll in which 48 percent of American voters questioned the US president’s mental fitness for the nation’s highest office.
