The Convener, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju says former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi will not vie for the 2023 presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) “because he knows he doesn’t stand any chance”.
Adeyanju stated this in a Tuesday evening tweet highlighting his top picks for the PDP ticket.
According to Adeyanju, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Sokoto State Governor Aminu, Aminu Tambuwal, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed were the candidates to beat.
“My prediction of Top 4 PDP Presidential candidates in 2023 are:
-Atiku
-Tambuwal
-Wike (may negotiate)
-Bala (may withdraw last minute)
“Peter Obi won’t contest because he knows he doesn’t stand any chance. My prediction of last PDP primaries was 100% correct,” Adeyanju wrote.
He added, “Kwankwaso does not have money to prosecute even PDP primaries. Saraki is good but he does not have a political base in either the North or the South. Best candidate but politics is politics.”
The tweet came barely a day after Obi announced he would vie for the party’s presidential ticket if zoned to the South.
Reacting, Adeyanju said, “PDP will never zone its ticket to the South because they already know once they do that, they have lost.
“They are praying night & day for APC to give their ticket to the South. That’s the only little hope they have to stand any chance. APC’s only plan in 2023 is to rig & rig.”
