A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Akin Alabi has described the political space in the country as a “battlefield”.
He stated this while giving insight into the challenges politicians face in the course of serving their fatherland.
Alabi, who represents Egbeda/Ona Ara federal constituency in Oyo State, revealed this in a tweet.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain stated that politicians grapple with “challenges, oppositions, enemies, haters and backbiters”.
According to him, anyone that cannot face such must avoid politics altogether.

Meanwhile The Herald earlier reported that former APC chieftain, Senator Shehu Sani recounted how he faced insults and defamation from fellow party members until he quit the party.
Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the Senate between 2015 and 2019, also stated this on Twitter.
“Most of the innuendoes, insults, defamation and character assassinations against the Presidential candidates of the ruling party will come from their fellow members sponsored by their fellow members.
“Perfidy against each other is in their DNA. I speak from experience,” Sani wrote.
