Hon. Jude Adjekpogu, the Councillor representing Ward 5 in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, has died days after he was allegedly shot by Fulani herdsmen.
It was learnt that the councillor died early Thursday in a private hospital in Warri, where he was said to be receiving treatment.
Recall that Hon. Adjekpogu sustained bullets wounds in his abdomen when suspected herdsmen attacked him on Saturday, December 4, 2021, along Eku-Abraka road as he was returning from a function.
The Eku-Abraka road has in recent times witnessed increased criminal activities, causing residents along the axis to appeal for the intervention of security agencies.
The attack was said to have left him in a serious medical condition which he battled until his demise.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe has yet to confirm the councillor’s death.
