Ladi Williams, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and first son of late legal luminary Chief FRA Williams, has died of COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated against the virus.
His son, Kunle Williams, took to Facebook to confirm his father’s demise on Sunday.
He said that the death occurred at 3 a.m. due to COVID-19 complications.
“My father passed away this morning from COVID despite being double vaccinated with Oxford AstraZeneca,” Kunle wrote.
The late senior lawyer was 74.
Reacting to the incident, President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata described it as a “personal loss”.
“I am totally devastated by the news. Chief Williams was a big brother and mentor to many of us. I wish the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss,” Akpata said.
