A man identified as Hamza Usman has been nabbed by worshippers at a mosque where he miracously slept off while allegedly trying to steal mobile phones.
The incident occurred in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital, a man, Yakubu Ahmed Bk, said in a Facebook post on Friday.
In the post he titled, ‘Caught Red Handed’, Ahmed wrote, “Hamza Usman, 31, from Maidahini village was caught in the early hours of today with multiple handsets at Bayan Kara, Birnin Kebbi.
“He claimed that he was in the company of two others (now at large) who have been stealing phones at night in houses when people had gone to bed.
“He went into a mosque at night after scaling walls of some houses and stealing phones and was about stealing gadgets when he suddenly fell asleep. He was arrested when worshippers began trooping in for early morning prayers.
“He has since been handed over to police authorities.”
