The 17 Southern governors will meet today in Lagos and the re-arrest of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu as well as invasion of the home of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, are expected to be on the agenda.
However, it was learnt that top on the agenda of the meeting is President Muhammadu Buhari’s order for the recovery of grazing routes for herdsmen.
Also, the Southern governors will discuss issues bordering on insecurity, true federalism, state police, restructuring, food security, it was learnt.
Recall that the governors last met in Asaba, Delta State on May 11 and took some far-reaching decisions.
Today’s meeting, which is a follow-up to the Asaba meeting, will hold at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja.
The meeting is expected to review the extent of implementation of their resolutions at the Asaba meeting.
Besides the host, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, other governors expected at the meeting are: Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom), Diri Duoye (Bayelsa), Willie Obiano (Anambra), Ben Ayade (Cross Rivers), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), David Umahi (Ebonyi), Godwin Obaseki (Edo) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti).
Others are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Adegboyega Oyetola (Osun), Oluwaseyi Makinde (Oyo), and Nyesom Wike (Rivers).
